Upstate NY has seen a trememdous amount of snow this year!! I left sis's place in Oswego County Thursday of last week to visit Joe, and they ONLY had four to seven feet when I left. I wanted to return on Wednesday, but a huge ice/snow storm blew across the northeast U.S., thwarting my plans to attend the Fruit and Veggie Expo in Syracuse. Their snow total is over eight feet now. I'm happy to spend these extra days with my husband in spite of missing a farmer gathering!! I haven't been out to the farm since mid-January. I'd love to be pruning those old apple trees right now. I have a few more weeks left to get that done. I need snowshoes!!
We uploaded some winter pics of our farm taken the second week of January 2007. The Cornus stolonifera stands out quite nicely. We have plenty to spare, so if you know anyone who wants any bareroot, live stake or B&B, send them our way. We're finalizing our equipment and seed orders now. We're so excited to get going....My brother-in-law has been helping me set up a seed starting area in the 2nd floor of their garage. Next I need lights and seeds...Voila!! Yummy food!
