Are you are as confused by the weather as I am?  What do April snow showers bring?  Depression?  After enduring the loveliness of several feet of lake effect snow this year, upstate NY just got at least seven inches of super wet snow from a Nor'easter.   Yuck!  This storm was intense!

In a moment of thankfulness, I am happy to be inland.  This storm really rocked the coastline.  I am concerned for all the coastal farmers-erosion, equipment losses, well problems.   Glad to be farming at 1700 ft.  FYI You won't see any 'skeeters here-bit breezy you might say.

Compiling a how-to and cost analysis for the seed chamber for anyone interested in building one.  It will be posted on our site soon.  This could also serve as a houseplant sanctuary in the winter.   We also have pics from construction day, check out some of my helpers!

So our media experiment  for the seeds is going well so far.  Refresher:  using screened aged alpaca bedding and composted leaves as the base ingredients, with a few coffee cans of vermiculite and wood ashes per batch.  It holds moisture well.  The leaf crops really like it.  Patiently waiting for the solanaceous crops to jump.  I began sowing on April 1.  Stay tuned for more results..........
