Hello friends!  I am enjoying the 60 degree days and real spring that upstate NY has been experiencing.  The lilacs and magnolias are budding up, the bulbs rocking out their riot of color.  I've been busy helping my customers with spring cleanup and planting shrubs.  Tis' great to be out in the sun working on my farmer's tan and retoning my muscles.  I've been using heat treatment for weeds along with corn gluten meal to curb weed seed germination.  Many of my customers have properties along the waterfront, so these 'alternative' treatments are welcome management tools.

This weekend Joe and his bro Mike will be setting up basecamp at the farm with an outfitters tent that our farmer friends loaned us.  This will be an asset that will protect our gear and alleviate tent procurement for anyone who would like to visit.  It will be nestled into the red twig dogwood and apple orchard.  Please come to visit and check out our new hangout!!

Our seeds are furiously growing and eager to get in the ground.  I may need to build the second seed chamber just to hold the bump ups before they go to the farm.  Speaking of farm arrivals, the bees should be arriving in the next two weeks.  I ordered the wooden hives from Brushy Mt. Bee Farm since I ran out of time to cut them out in our woodshop.  The bees are coming up from North Carolina.  My supplier said that they haven't been affected by the colony collapse disorder that has plagued many beekeepers all over the east coast.  Wish the little lovelies luck!!
