Wishing that the sun would be up right now-check my blog timestamp.  Alas, the days are shortening.  I love fall and winter, but this farmer still has many chores to finish: like planting garlic, taking down the fence, battening down our camp, moving some evergreen trees.  I know the lists will never end, but I continue to work toward the bottom of them all.
Joe and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary last week!!  Time has flown.  When we look around we're amazed by how much we're accomplished in such a short time.  Message to our readers:  Keep Dreaming!  You will get there, and remember to have fun along the way  I've been in NY for a full year already.  It's tough to be away from my husband, but we're working toward the same end, keeping both of us motivated.  Hopefully we'll be adding outbuildings and a small residence in the next year.  Lots of planning to do, thankfully I'll be wintering in PA to brainstorm with Joe regularly.  Oh yes, the yellowwood.  It was a clearance price for a 2", 12' tall specimen.  I couldn't pass it up.   It is an underused tree in the landscape and has earned the honor of being the first tree we've planted at the farm.  It will provide lots of shade and climbing for decades to come..........
This cold rain we're getting right now has put dents into my gardening plans.  I will be squeezing in customers on the weekends to fulfill all of my committments.  I did alright last fall and winter.  It's only human to anticipate and be concerned about the future.  I've heard predictions that we'll have a mild winter in upstate.  I should hope so, considering the butt kicking depths that blanketed us last winter.  At any rate, I've gotten out the heavy socks, sweaters, and coveralls to put into my truck............
