HI Friends!  I am excited to tell you that Joe is coming with me to the Northeast Organic Farming Association meeting this year!!  We're headed to Saratoga Springs, NY on Friday in the super early morning for a weekend of comraderie and learning.  Friday will feature full day workshops:  Beck headed to "Farming with Animal Power", Joe to "Medicinal Plants".  Saturday and Sunday hold many 75 minute sessions, keynote speakers, tradeshow, and good eats.   *The best part is connecting with others who strive to make the world better through sound agricultural practices. * I met so many wonderful people last year.  We love all the kinds of folks that agriculture attracts.
Otherwise we've been dreaming about constructing a small residence this year.  Strawbale design has captured our hearts.  We have made contact with a green architect and look forward to working with her.  We definitely need to put up some out buildings, like a tool shed/tractor barn and a shed to protect harvested veggies. I am a natural born salvager, so our mantra of reduce, reuse, recycle will be showcased in our dwellings.  They will all be unique for sure!!
Seed catalogs have also been filling our evenings.  We're adding several varieties of greens, pole beans, and okra.  Many crops will see increased bed space, with a few newbies.  Stay tuned....anyone have any requests?
